This private 2-day experience combines medieval history, spectacular mountain scenery, and cultural landmarks across two countries in a way that is impossible to replicate without a car and careful planning.
You explore the best of Girona’s Old Town, enjoy a scenic journey through the Pyrenees, stay overnight in Andorra, and benefit from a dedicated guided tour of Andorra la Vella to understand the history and uniqueness of this small principality.
On the second day, you continue with a guided visit to Montserrat Monastery, one of Spain’s most iconic mountain sites, creating a perfect balance between culture, nature, and history.
With a private driver-guide, door-to-door pickup, a comfortable vehicle, and a hotel stay included, this tour offers a relaxed, well-organized way to discover places that most visitors never reach during a short stay in Barcelona.
Your private driver-guide will pick you up directly from your hotel, apartment, or specified address in Barcelona at the scheduled start time of the tour. Please be ready 5 minutes before pickup. The driver will wait at the entrance of your building or at the closest accessible point if your street has limited vehicle access.
Your private driver-guide will pick you up from your accommodation in Barcelona in the morning and begin the scenic journey toward northern Catalonia.
The first stop is the historic city of Girona, where you will enjoy a guided walk through the beautifully preserved Old Town. You will explore the exterior of the Cathedral of Girona, wander through the narrow streets of El Call, admire the colorful houses along the Onyar River, and walk across the famous Eiffel Bridge while learning about the city’s medieval history.
After free time for coffee or photos, the journey continues through the impressive landscapes of the Pyrenees Mountains toward the Principality of Andorra. This panoramic mountain drive is one of the highlights of the tour, offering spectacular views along the way. By the afternoon, you will arrive in Andorra la Vella, the highest capital city in Europe. After check-in at your hotel, you can enjoy a relaxed walk through the old quarter, see the historic Casa de la Vall, and take in the mountain surroundings. The evening is free for dinner and rest in Andorra.
After breakfast at your hotel, you will meet your guide for a guided walking tour of Andorra la Vella. During the visit, you will explore the historic Barri Antic (Old Town), see Casa de la Vall, learn about Andorra’s unique co-principality system, and enjoy panoramic views surrounded by the Pyrenees mountains. You will also have some free time afterward for shopping in the tax-free area or for a short break.
You will then depart Andorra and travel back toward Catalonia through scenic mountain roads to reach Montserrat. Upon arrival, you will enjoy a guided tour of Montserrat Monastery, where you will visit the basilica, learn about the history of the Black Madonna (La Moreneta), and admire the dramatic rock formations that make this mountain one of Spain’s most iconic landmarks.
In the late afternoon, you will return comfortably to Barcelona and be dropped off at your accommodation, completing your two-day private journey through medieval heritage, mountain landscapes, and cultural highlights.
