    We will begin our visit admiring, from the San Vicente Gardens, the impressive towers and canvases of our walls. Undoubtedly, the most representative monument that has given shape and life to the city of Ávila.

    Basilica de San Vicente

    The Pearl of the Avila Romanesque (National Monument). Towards the beginning of the s. Construction began in the 12th century on what ended up being the most important temple in the medieval city of Ávila. This basilica is located in one of the places where more archaeological remains have been found in the city, which denotes the importance of the area for the various peoples and cultures that populated Ávila.     Catedral de Avila

    Considered the first Gothic cathedral built in Spain. Its tall and solitary tower stands out, which reveals the double function of this great temple. One as a house of God, the second as an important part of the defense of the city. Its famous cimorro is integrated into the wall as one more tower of it.

    The Church of Santa Teresa is part of the convent of the Carmelite monks that is located in the same square. They were the ones who decided in the 17th century to build this convent in the same place where the old family home of the Cepeda and Ahumada parents of La Santa stood.
