You will have an early start on your adventure as your driver picks you up in Marrakech at 7:30 am. You'll journey for approximately 2 hours through the stunning Atlas Mountains via the scenic Tizi 'n Tichka pass, stopping for breakfast and photos along the way.
After we will drive in the direction of Ouarzazate, stopping to visit the UNESCO-protected Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah. There, you will have lunch before start to Zagora
you will pass through Agdez and many Berber villages, and visit of the Draa Valley and it's beautiful palm groves.
Arriving at the center of a Tinfou village, you will say good-bye to your driver and mount your camels. You'll enjoy a ride to your desert camp through the stunning sand dunes for about an hour and a half, arriving in time to watch the unforgettable desert sunset. You will drink tea with the nomads, enjoy dinner, then traditional Berber music around a fire.
Wake up early to see the desert sunrise, then enjoy breakfast before leaving your peaceful desert camp. Your driver will deliver you to Tamegroute, where you will see the authentic, working pottery kilns, the Koranic library housing ancient manuscripts, and the underground kasbah
After tea with a Berber family – my family – you will enjoy a 4x4 ride to M'Hamid, a small village and the last town and Draa oasis before the big wasteland of Erg Chegaga, Sahara. Your desert adventure will continue with a 60-km off-road drive from M'hamid to the Erg Chegaga Dunes, the largest group of Sahara dunes. Enjoy the golden sunset of the desert before a traditional dinner, and a night in a Berber tent.
After breakfast in the Erg Chegaga camp, you will depart via 4×4 to traverse the old Paris – Dakar race road to the Foum Zguid, crossing the naturally dry Iriqui lake.
Take a lunch break in Ouarzazate
then continue on to Marrakech. You should arrive in the late afternoon, around 6pm, where you will be dropped off at your Hotel or Riad.
