Many tourists suppose that Luon Cave is like a gate opening a wonderland with water and limestone mountains in Halong Bay. Crossing Luon Cave, all the tiredness and exhaustion of tourists are left outside so that they can find their souls connecting with nature. Luon Cave is like a tunnel that is 100 meters in length, 4 meters in width and 3 meters in height. Compared to other caves in Halong Bay, Luon Cave is not a large one, but it is an exclusive cave that contains mysterious things. This cave is located at the foot of an imposing mountain, and to reach the other side of the island, tourists have to go on a boat passing under the mountain. Therefore, the cave is called “Luon Cave’. Luon Cave is the arch-shaped entrance leading to a tranquil lake, which is about 1 square kilometer. Enclosed by high mountains, this lake is protected from the waves and winds of the ocean, and the water surface is relatively gentle.
Sat at the edge of Halong Bay, Dark & Light Cave can be found in Lan Ha Bay. Lan Ha Bay is a few kilometers away from the more frequently visited caves and closer to Cat Ba National Park, so it may take an hour or two to get here from other caves. Once you arrive, a dazzling combination of white limestone karsts, emerald green waters and the dark mystery of the caves create a wonderful atmosphere making this a trip worth taking. The cave is named Dark & Light Cave because it’s actually a system made up of two separate caves. Dark Cave is 100 meters long with very little natural or artificial light so you will need a flashlight inside! Light Cave, on the other hand, is considerably shorter and has tonnes of natural light beaming through gaps and holes in the rock making it feel like a church carved by Mother Nature herself. Light Cave is always accessible whereas Dark Cave is sometimes swallowed by the tide.

Sung Sot Cave is divided into two chambers; the first chamber, known as the “Waiting Room” is vast, adorned by stalagmites and stalactites and lit by multicolored lights positioned to complement the chamber’s structural beauty In order to reach the second chamber, visitors must walk down a narrow passageway. The second chamber is known as the “Serene Castle”. This chamber is large and grand with an extremely high ceiling and has many interesting rock formations which locals identify by likening them to animals due to their shapes.
Lan Ha Bay is made up of around 300 karst islands and limestone sea rocks and can be found southeast of Cat Ba Island.
