Where skyline meets surf and neon meets nostalgia, this self-guided Gold Coast walking tour takes you from the buzzing heart of Surfers Paradise to the laid-back soul of Burleigh Heads.
You’ll trace powdery beaches pressed right against glass towers, step inside wax museums and illusion worlds, soar in indoor wind tunnels, and rise 77 floors above the Pacific for horizon-stretching views.
Along the way, uncover stories of swampland ambition, disco-era glamour, casino glow, cultural reinvention, and Indigenous roots beneath the sand.
From arcade lights to rainforest trails, this is the Gold Coast in full contrast, bold, breezy, and impossible to ignore.
The tour begins in front of the main gate of Skyline North, Tower 2.
The Tour ends at Burleigh Head National Park, which is our last stop.
Neon chaos meets beachside buzz at Archie Brothers—arcades, bowling and cocktails in electric color. Nearby, sweet bubble waffles and bold noodles fuel the fun before the ocean calls.
Feel the breeze cool and the light widen as Surfers Paradise Beach unfolds—powdery sand, rolling Pacific waves and a skyline rising boldly from the shore. The city and ocean collide in hypnotic harmony.
City buzz meets ocean breeze on Surfers Paradise promenade—golden sand, surfers, skyline glow and nonstop adventure. From jet boats to neon nights, this is freedom with a view.
Stand by the iconic SURFERS PARADISE sign—bold letters, ocean roar and skyline shimmer behind you. Then step into Cavill Avenue’s buzz of food, neon and nonstop city energy.
Stand in Cavill Avenue’s electric core—sunlit towers, neon nights, Soul’s skyline curve, Ripley’s weird wonders and Timezone buzz. Party pulse by dark, beach horizon by day.
Step into Old Time Photos, a rustic time capsule beneath Paradise Tower. Trade neon for sepia, dress as outlaw or aristocrat, then step back to street buzz and global eats in Surfers Paradise.
Arrive in Broadbeach—calmer, classier and refreshingly relaxed. Explore on foot, catch easy buses, visit the Convention Centre, then follow the ocean breeze to a quieter stretch of sand.
Stand between Broadbeach and Kurrawa Beach—golden sand, rolling waves and patrolled waters. Parks, markets and surf lessons await. Soak up the sun, then cross the sand to your next adventure.
Pause before the sleek curve of The Star Gold Coast. Once Jupiters, its neon glow marked a new era for Broadbeach. From ancient dunes to 24 hour lights, this is where the coast found its sparkle.
Beside Broadbeach South station stands Pacific Fair Shopping Centre. Once the Pink Palace, now a luxe open air retail resort with 300 plus stores, palms, fountains and coastal glam.
Welcome to Burleigh Heads, slower, earthier and real. Follow the street to golden sand and rolling surf, where rainforest meets sea and barefoot mornings flow into glowing sunsets.
Pause and look left. Burleigh Heads Beach stretches wide, white sand between blue sky and sea. Surfers glide along the point break as locals linger by the shore, where ancient headland meets easy coastal calm.
Step past the shelter onto a shaded track rising into Burleigh Head National Park. Waves crash below as rainforest wraps the path. Choose ocean views or forest climbs, and end above the sea.
