On the second day, your journey begins after enjoying a delicious breakfast in Merzouga. You will head towards the day's destination, Ouarzazate, passing through the rugged Route of the Thousand Kasbahs, evoking sandcastle-like structures along this historic caravan route. This area has been the setting for numerous Hollywood films, including famous titles such as The Last Temptation of Christ, The Jewel of the Nile, and, most recently, Hideous Kinky. Ouarzazate and its surroundings offer a fascinating mix of natural beauty and cultural richness, with lush river valleys, palm groves, and traditional mud dwellings standing out vividly against the backdrop of the blue desert sky. During the journey, you will pause for a leisurely lunch, explore the stunning Todra Gorge on foot, and marvel at the dramatic landscapes of the Dadès Valley. In the late afternoon, you will reach today’s destination, where a delicious dinner awaits you, followed by a peaceful night’s rest.
We start the day by visiting the Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and filming location for numerous films and series. Afterward, we will cross the High Atlas Mountains through the impressive Tizi n'Tichka Pass, arriving in Marrakech, where our desert excursion ends. This day is a perfect combination of history and spectacular natural landscapes.
