Upon arrival in the Galapagos Islands, once the entry process at Baltra Island airport is completed, our representative will greet you outside. They will be the person welcoming you to the islands and will Subsequently transfer you to Puerto Ayora on Santa Cruz Island for your first visit.
Visit to the Charles Darwin Research Station and the Galapagos Giant Tortoise Breeding Center. This is a guided tour, accompanied by a certified naturalist guide from the Galapagos National Park. Additionally, a tour inside the interpretation center is conducted to learn about the research and conservation projects of the scientists at the location.
Upon availability, you have the option to choose to visit one of the 3 islands for the day, each offering a land-based activity (guided excursion, hike, animal observation) followed by snorkeling and lunch on the yacht. One of the most spectacular places in Galapagos for snorkeling and appreciating the landscape. After approximately 40 minutes of navigation, we will arrive at a shallow, calm, and very clear water area to observe the rock formations that a series of arches and tunnels have produced from volcanic eruptions, where today a large number of endemic Galapagos species inhabit. During this tour, you can observe: white-tipped shark caves, blue-footed boobies with their chicks, penguins, sea lions, seahorses, rays, a variety of fish, and along the way, manta rays are also often spotted.
This energetic day will be spent visiting the Sierra Negra volcano - "Volcan Chico" with a 16 km hike to see the 9 x 7 km caldera, the third largest in the world, and an active volcano. This is the best place to learn about and experience the origin of all the Galapagos Islands. During this hiking tour, you'll visit the "Volcan Chico" area, which consists of lava flows from previous eruptions, showcasing a lunar and colorful landscape until reaching a viewpoint where you can see the northern part of Isabela Island, the other volcanoes, and the surrounding islands.
