What's Included

1 cup of matcha tea (Seasonal Japanese sweets as optional)
We do not have any parking lot. If you are arriving by rental bicycle, please use the public parking spaces.
Please arrive no earlier than 10 minutes before your scheduled time. As our space is limited, we kindly ask for your understanding that the venue is not suitable for eating.

If you are coming from Karasuma-dori Street, turn at the corner with the Family Mart convenience store. Then proceed straight for just one block. You will see the sign for 'aeru gojo' next to the 'Only Corporation' and across from 'Zen Kyoto'. We do not have a parking lot for cars and bicycles.

What to expect

Start your experience by exploring the charming townhouse built over 100 years ago. Sit down and relax on the tatami floor.

Meet your host, who have learned in Omotesenke, one of the most popular schools of tea ceremony. The host will demonstrate the ceremonial preparation, showing certain etiquette. See how it is to make matcha by using a bamboo whisk. Afterward, prepare and savor matcha with traditional sweets.

Explore the aspects and the spiritual essence of Japan, found within its rituals, tools, and settings. Authentic matcha, sweets, and utensils are also available, and a concierge familiar with Japanese traditions helps you choose the right souvenir.
A wide variety of crafts, handmade by artisans are also available.
