You should go on a hot air balloon ride at least once in your life. It offers a tranquil and scenic experience like no other—the rustic vibes, the breeze, and the feeling of flight are immaculate!
Hot air balloons often happen in the wee hours of the morning when temperatures are cool and you witness a more spectacular sunrise on air and the wind conditions aren’t as strong as the rest of the day. Hot air balloon rides are sensitive to the weather, so if the wind is stronger than usual, they may be canceled for safety reasons.
It’s essential to book your trip in advance so you can assure you’ll have a spot. Wearing a hat or cap, especially when you’re near the gas jets, is highly recommended as It can get really hot there.
There are no fixed routes for hot air balloon rides, the pilot will follow where the wind condition is best, so you might wonder where will we get picked up after the flight? The touring company vehicles will follow up to pick you up from where you land.

What to expect
Make our way to the Air ballooning Safaris located 1.5 hour on the north of Johannesburg.
The Safari Flight experience offers passengers a more ‘African safari experience'. The flight launches from inside the Rhino and Lion Nature Reserve and gives passengers the opportunity to view game from the air and flies over the Cradle of Humankind or the Magaliesberg Mountains, also depends on where the wind blows.
About 80% of the flights have had sightings of at least 2 of the ‘Big Five’ during the flight.
The entire experience covers approximately 3 hours. The outline for this Balloon Experience goes as follows:
* Meeting time at luxury Lodge – to be advised
* You are served tea, coffee and biscuits while you watch the setup of the enormous balloon
* Enjoy your hot air balloon flight for approximately an hour, taking in peaceful views of the Cradle of Humankind or Magaliesberg Mountains
* Keeping with the hot air ballooning tradition, we celebrate with champagne and * orange juice
* Upon landing you are transferred back to the lodge for a full English breakfast and presentation of certificates
