Your adventure begins with a pick-up from your accommodation in Kigali. Enjoy a scenic drive through Rwanda’s beautiful countryside on your way to Akagera National Park, home to the Big Five and diverse wildlife.
On the way to Akagera, we make a short stop over to Imigongo Art center for the stretching, use the bathroom, grab a drink or take something to eat if you have skipped the breakfast. Feel free to visit the art craft and enjoy the work of African arts and take home souvenirs to you and your loved ones.
Upon arrival at Akagera National Park, complete entry formalities and embark on a guided game drive through the park’s diverse landscapes. Akagera is often regarded as the best one-day safari in Africa, as it is the only park where you can traverse from south to north in a single day, with excellent chances of spotting the Big Five. Set in the Land of a Thousand Hills, the park features open savannah, rolling hills, and over ten lakes, including Lake Ihema, Rwanda’s second-largest rift valley lake. During the drive, look out for elephants, lions, giraffes, zebras, and a rich variety of birdlife, with over 500 bird species recorded in the park.

After enjoying the park’s stunning scenery and spotting more of its unique wildlife, you’ll begin the journey back to Kigali, where you’ll be dropped off at your preferred location, concluding a day filled with breathtaking views.
