A morning on Grand Cayman’s North Sound takes you from the shallow waters of Stingray City to two very different snorkeling experiences beneath the Caribbean.
Begin at the famous Stingray City sandbar, where the water is typically no deeper than five feet and southern stingrays glide through the clear water in their natural habitat.
Then put on your mask and fins and head beneath the surface. Unlike tours that include a single reef stop, this experience gives you time to snorkel at both the Barrier Reef and Coral Gardens, with approximately 30 minutes at each location to explore coral formations, tropical fish, and other marine life.
From standing on a shallow Caribbean sandbar to snorkeling two of Grand Cayman’s best-known reef environments, the scenery keeps changing throughout the morning. 1Stingray City
Start your adventure with complimentary transportation from participating accommodations in the Seven Mile Beach area. Cruise ship guests meet at the Waterfront Centre in George Town, conveniently located just a short walk from the cruise terminal. From there, continue to the marina and board your boat for the ride across Grand Cayman’s North Sound. At Stingray City, step into the calm, shallow waters of the famous sandbar, typically no deeper than five feet (1.5 meters). Spend approximately 40 minutes in the water observing southern stingrays up close in their natural habitat while your crew shares more about these remarkable marine animals. Travel time from your pickup location, the marina, and across the North Sound is included in this portion of the itinerary.

2Grand Cayman
Continue across the North Sound to the Barrier Reef for the first of two dedicated snorkeling stops. Spend approximately 30 minutes snorkeling among coral formations, tropical fish, and other marine life while exploring one of Grand Cayman’s natural reef environments. Snorkeling equipment is provided for your time in the water. Navigation between Stingray City, the Barrier Reef, and Coral Gardens is included in the listed duration.

3Grand Cayman
Your final stop takes you to Coral Gardens for another approximately 30 minutes of snorkeling in clear Caribbean waters. Explore a different section of Grand Cayman’s underwater landscape, with coral formations and opportunities to spot colorful tropical marine life. After your snorkeling experience, board the boat for the journey back to the marina, followed by return transportation to the Royal Watler Cruise Terminal or participating accommodations in the Seven Mile Beach area. Total duration: approximately 3 hours 30 minutes, including transportation and navigation between stops.

- From cruise terminals, walk LEFT for 2-8 minutes depending on which terminal your ship tenders to, until you see the Waterfront Centre building, a 2-story yellow building with a blue roof. We are on the ground floor near the south end of the building. For check-ins at the Cayman Falls office, it is opposite the Westin Hotel on Seven Mile Beach.

- Feel free to bring your own snacks and drinks. Glass containers are not permitted for safety.
- Guests should be comfortable swimming in open water to participate in the Barrier Reef and Coral Gardens snorkeling portions of the tour.
- This tour operates rain or shine. Please check the weather and come prepared for the day’s conditions.
- The itinerary may be modified if weather or sea conditions require it for safe navigation.
- What to Bring: Swimsuit, towel, sunscreen, and a change of clothes if desired.
- Wildlife: Please observe marine life responsibly and follow your crew’s instructions throughout the experience.
