This is the only program of its kind offering a rare, hands-on glimpse into the daily life of Nusa Penida’s seaweed farmers.
We’ll start with an engaging presentation that gives you the full picture—what seaweed farming is, why it matters, and how it supports our island community. Then it’s time to head out and join our local farmers in the ocean, where you’ll learn the traditional farming techniques firsthand and even try them yourself.
You’re directly supporting local families who depend on seaweed farming in the face of an unpredictable market.
Throughout the day, we’ll take photos and videos of your experience and happily share them with you. A local lunch is also included.
Our local guides deeply rooted in this culture bring a broader perspective on seaweed’s global relevance. You’ll travel in a well-maintained, air-conditioned vehicle, and of course, we’re fully licensed and insured for your peace of mind.

What's Included
Meeting and pickup
You will find our meeting point at the ground floor below our Coral Cafe. It is on the opposite side to Pure Dive.
What to expect
You'll get an orientation for the hands-on activities, and you're welcome to borrow water boots before heading out.
From there, we’ll drive you to the seaweed farm. Meet the local farmers, see how traditional seaweed farming is done and learn how to do it by yourself! With guidance from our team and local partners, you’ll experience the full process. Your participation helps support local families with a more stable, sustainable income.
After the farming experience, we’ll visit the breathtaking Diamond Beach in East Nusa Penida. You’ll have the option to walk down, enjoy the iconic Bali swing, or simply take in the panoramic views from above.
Once you're ready, we'll bring you back to basecamp.

And if you'd like, we’ll capture some great photos of your day and share them with you afterwards.
