The castle now serves as a hotel, and visitors can explore its walls and towers while enjoying panoramic views of the surrounding area. Óbidos is also famous for its annual mediaeval festival, where the town transforms into a mediaeval village with locals dressing in traditional costumes, and various events and performances taking place throughout the town.
