    Ha Giang City - Quan Ba Heaven Gate - Lung Khuy Cave - Yen Minh

    Quan Ba Heaven Gate

    Quan Ba Heaven Gate is a beautiful location in Ha Giang Province, Vietnam. It is the first gateway to enter the Dong Van Ky rock plateau and is also the beginning of another famous place “The road of happiness”. From the top of the mountain, visitors can see the majestic scenery of the Dong Van rock plateau, including the vast Quan Ba valley with its terraced fields and houses of ethnic minorities. In the distance is the Co Tien Twin Mountain, a masterpiece of creation with clouds spreading all over the way to create a poetic setting.

    Lung Khuy Cave is a natural wonder in Ha Giang Province, Vietnam. It is considered the most beautiful cave in Dong Van Karst Plateau Geopark, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Lung Khuy Cave is also part of the legend of the Mong ethnic couple, who fell in love and escaped to the cave to avoid their families’ opposition. The cave is located near the town of Tam Son, in Quan Ba District. It is about 300 meters long and 30 meters high, with many stalactites and stalagmites of various shapes and colors. The cave has two entrances, one facing the valley and one facing the mountain. The cave is well-lit and has wooden walkways for visitors to explore. We will walk in the cave about 1 hour

    The Tham Ma pass is about 5 km long at an altitude of 1500 meters and has a sharp zigzagging road. There is a checkpoint at the top of the pass where you can take pictures of the winding s-shaped road up. Children of ethnic minorities often walk around here with flowers. We will stop at the checkpoint about 20-30 minutes

    Hmong King Palace in Ha Giang is a historic site that was the residence of the kings of the Vuong Dynasty, who ruled over the Hmong ethnic people in the early 20th century. The palace was built from 1898 to 1903 with a combination of Chinese and Hmong architectural styles. It has 64 rooms, 10 buildings and 3 courtyards, and is decorated with images of sacred animals. The palace is also surrounded by a stone wall for protection. The Vuong family became very wealthy and powerful by trading opium, and they had alliances with both the French colonialists and Ho Chi Minh’s revolutionaries. The palace was recognized as a National Historic Landmark in 1993 and opened to tourism. We will stop at the checkpoint for about 30-60 minutes.

    Lung Cu Flag Pole is a national symbol of Vietnam, located at the northernmost point of the country, near the border with China. It stands on top of Lung Cu Peak, which is about 1,470 meters above sea level. The flag pole is 33 meters high and has a large Vietnamese flag of 54 square meters, representing the 54 ethnic groups in Vietnam. Lung Cu Flag Pole is a place of pride and patriotism for the Vietnamese people, as well as a tourist attraction that offers stunning views of the surrounding mountains and valleys. We will stop here for about 1 hour.

    After a long day on the motorbike, you will stay at Dong Van ancient town. Dong Van ancient town is located in the center of Dong Van, surrounded by rocky mountains. The town is known for its centuries-old houses, lively highland markets, and spirited festive evenings. It’s a cultural and commercial center of Dong Van town, where you can find cafes, restaurants, homestays, and souvenir shops. The ancient town bears a strong impression of Chinese architecture with red lanterns and images of sacred animals, such as dragons, phoenixes, turtles, and cranes. These symbols represent power, longevity, wisdom, and peace.

    Dong Van - Ma Pi Leng Pass - Nho Que River - Meo Vac Town - Du Gia Village

    Ma Pi Leng Pass

    Ma Pi Leng Pass is one of the most famous and dangerous passes in Vietnam, with its rugged curves and steep cliffs. The pass is about 20 km long and 1,200 - 1,400 meters high above sea level. It offers a spectacular view of the Nho Que River and the Tu San Canyon, which is the deepest canyon in Southeast Asia. The pass is also a UNESCO Global Geopark, with its unique rock formations and cultural heritage of the ethnic communities living in the area. Ma Pi Leng Pass is a great place for adventure lovers and nature lovers who want to explore the beauty and diversity of Ha Giang province. Going along the pass, we will stop at some checkpoint which has the best view. We will stop and rest for about 30 - 45 minutes.

Du Gia village is home to 14 villages and 9 different ethnic minority groups, such as the Tay, the Hmong, and the Lo Lo. They have their own unique traditions, costumes, and languages. You can visit the Du Gia waterfall, which is only 5 km from the main town. It is a refreshing and scenic spot where you can swim, jump off rocks, or just enjoy the view. You will see stunning landscapes of mountains, rice fields, and traditional wooden houses.

    Lung Tam weaving village is a place where you can witness the traditional Hmong linen weaving process, which has been passed down for generations. Lung Tam village is located at the foot of a high mountain in Lung Tam commune, Quan Ba district, Ha Giang province. It is home to about 130 Hmong households, who cultivate hemp and make various products from linen, such as clothes, bags, scarves, and blankets. The Hmong linen weaving process is very intricate and laborious, involving 41 steps from planting hemp to dyeing and embroidering the fabric. The Hmong people use natural materials and by-hand techniques to create their unique and colorful patterns, which reflect their culture and identity.
