Mount Aso is home to one of the world's largest active volcanic calderas, with the dramatic Nakadake Crater offering spectacular views of steaming volcanic vents and rugged landscapes. Volcanic activity and weather conditions determine access to the crater. If the crater is open, this stop replaces the visit to Kamishikimi Kumanoimasu Shrine, allowing travelers to experience one of Japan's most remarkable natural wonders.
