The Panama Canal is 85 feet above the sea level, they are two set of locks on the Pacific side two artificial lakes and one more set of locks on the Atlantic side, the locks are water elevators to raise the ships to the level of the artificial lake on top of the mountains then they go through the isthmus on the artificial lake and on the other side they lower the ships back to le level of the ocean, this is an amazing engineering done more than 100 years ago by the Americans
Amador or the Causeway is an artificial road made from all the dirt and rocks of the excavations in 1914 to connect 3 islands at the entrance of the Canal as a water breaker, during World War II was a US military site, today is a tourist area with amazing views of the skyline of Panama City, this is a panoramic tour with one stop for pictures at the Panama sign.
Walking tour in the old city, the most iconic part of the city, we are going to start the walk at Plaza V Centenario at the entrance of the old city, starting with the history of Panama, and carry on to The Lady of Mercy Church and museum, then Plaza Herrera, San Jose Church, La Campania Convent, Santo Domingo Church, The Frech Square, Esteban Huertas Walkway(amazing pictures) San Francisco Church, Plaza Bolivar and Plaza Cathedral is the end of the walking tour at the very heart of the city. This is a group tour sometimes we stop for pictures or for shopping.
