    Our family heritage. Our grandfather was an artist, a sculptor. He lived and worked in the Bruges region and made many contributions to its cultural heritage. Here we see Papageno, the bird catcher! In the end, love and courage prevail.

    The Lovers sculpture is a bronze statue created by an Italian - Bruges couple, Canestraro-Depuydt. The artwork depicts an embracing couple and contrasts with the historic surroundings, symbolizing timeless love in the heart of the city.

    The Basilica of the Holy Blood is a unique double chapel on Burg Square. The lower chapel, built in the 12th century, is Romanesque and very sober, while the upper chapel is richly decorated in Gothic style. It houses a revered relic believed to contain the blood of Christ. Inside the basilica, the oldest surviving sculpture in Bruges depicts the Baptism of Christ. This Romanesque artwork shows Jesus Christ being baptized by John the Baptist. It dates back to the 12th century and reflects the simple yet powerful style of early medieval religious art.

    Vismarkt

    The Vismarkt is a picturesque square where fish has been sold since the 19th century. Surrounded by elegant white columns, the only building from our period under the Netherlands. It reflects Bruges’ long tradition of trade and connection to the sea. The bust of Frank Van Acker, who served as mayor of Bruges from 1977 to 1995 can be seen here. He played a key role in preserving the historic city and promoting Bruges as a cultural and tourist destination.

Here, we'll see the 'Apocalypse', a sculpture by Belgian artist Rik Poot.
