Day 1
Lemosho Gate to Mti Mkubwa Camp

The trek begins at the Lemosho Gate with the help of your guides and porters. From there, you’ll hike through the rainforest to the Mti Mkubwa Camp, where you’ll spend the first night. This day will give you an introduction to the natural beauty of the mountain and allow you to gradually acclimatize to the altitude.

Day 2
Mti Mkubwa Camp to Shira I Camp

You will continue your ascent to Shira I Camp. During this day, you will notice a change in the vegetation as you approach higher altitudes, while passing through the rainforest and into the heath and moorland zone. You’ll cross the Shira Ridge and hike to the Shira 1 Camp, where you’ll spend the night. You will enjoy breathtaking views as you hike the Shira Plateau and hike to the Shira 1 Camp, where you’ll spend the night.

Day 3
Shira I Camp to Shira II Camp

Today, you'll continue your ascent through the moorlands, with the landscape becoming increasingly rugged and barren. As you approach the Lent Hills, the trail becomes steeper, offering panoramic views of the Shira Plateau. After approximately five to seven hours of hiking, you'll reach Shira II Camp, where you'll spend the night.

Day 4
Shira II Camp to Lava Tower to Barranco Camp

Today's trek takes you through the alpine desert, a vast and surreal landscape with little vegetation. You'll encounter stunning rock formations and breathtaking views of the Western Breach and Lava Tower. After roughly seven to nine hours of hiking, you'll arrive at Barranco Camp, where you'll rest and prepare for the challenging Barranco Wall climb on the following day.

Day 5
Barranco Camp to Karanga Camp

This day begins with a thrilling ascent up the Barranco Wall, a steep and exhilarating scramble that rewards you with stunning views. As you continue your journey, the trail leads you through valleys and ridges, showcasing the diverse beauty of Kilimanjaro. After approximately four to six hours of trekking, you'll reach Karanga Camp, nestled above a scenic valley.

Karanga Camp to Barafu Camp

Today's trek takes you closer to the summit as you ascend to Barafu Camp, the base camp for your final push to Uhuru Peak. The trail becomes steeper as you make your way through the Alpine desert. After approximately three to five hours of hiking, you'll reach Barafu Camp, where you'll rest and prepare for the summit night.

Barafu Camp to Uhuru Peak to Mweka Camp

This is the challenging and most rewarding day of the trek awaits. You'll start your ascent in the mid night hour, making your way to Stella Point and finally reaching the majestic Uhuru Peak. Standing at the highest point in Africa (5,895m), is an indescribable feeling of accomplishment. After celebrating your achievement, you'll descend to Mweka Camp, where you'll spend the night.

Day 8
Mweka Camp to Mweka Gate

On this final day, you'll descend through the lush rainforest, retracing your steps and reflecting on the incredible journey you've undertaken. As you hike down to the Mweka Gate, you'll pass through different vegetation zones, spotting various wildlife along the way. Upon reaching the gate, you'll receive your well-deserved certificate of achievement and bid farewell to the magical Mount Kilimanjaro.
