Start your day with a convenient pickup from your Cairns city hotel around 8:00 AM, where our friendly local driver—known for great stories and warm hospitality—will greet you and ensure a smooth start to your adventure.
Your journey begins with a ride on the Skyrail Rainforest Cableway, departing from Smithfield. Glide above the lush canopy of the world’s oldest tropical rainforest and enjoy panoramic views of waterfalls, dense greenery, and dramatic landscapes.
By 10:00 AM, you’ll arrive at the picturesque Kuranda Village, nestled in the heart of the rainforest. You’ll have around four hours to explore at your own pace. Visit popular attractions like the Australian Butterfly Sanctuary, Birdworld Kuranda, and the Kuranda Koala Gardens (admission not included). Market, artwork, etc
In the afternoon, board the Kuranda Scenic Railway, Australia’s oldest operating railway.
Upon arrival back in Cairns, our driver will be waiting to return you to your hotel.

Far North Queensland’s Wet Tropics World Heritage Area are among the oldest rainforests on earth. Thousands of species of plants and hundreds of unique creatures inhabit this lush green world. The famous Kuranda Scenic Railway winds its way on a journey from Gimuy (Cairns) via Bubundji (Freshwater) to Ngunbay (Kuranda), the village in the rainforest. Rising from sea level to 327 metres, the journey to Kuranda passes spectacular waterfalls as it moves through the stunning Din Din (Barron Gorge).
