Come and experience this magnificent full-day, driving and walking tour of the famous Cotswolds with a friendly local guide, in-vehicle refreshments and plenty of incredible photo opportunities along the way.
The Cotswolds is an ‘Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty’ (AONB) known for its stunning countryside, historic castles, grand manor houses, lively market towns and quaint villages with honey-coloured stone cottages. By booking this tour, you will escape the hassles and time-constraints of accompanying a larger group, gain local insights and be able to fully immerse yourself in the experience.
During this tour, you will:
Be driven in a luxury vehicle with refreshments.
Visit quintessential English countryside locations.
Learn about the history of the places we visit.
Have some free time to explore, or relax.
Stop for photographs in various places along the way.
Eat and drink in a Cotswold pub or restaurant (Optional- not included in tour price).
Important note: we are not able to offer pick up and drop off in London. If you have booked a private tour including pick up, simply send us the address of your accommodation in the Cotswolds and we will collect you from that location on the morning of your tour. At the end of your tour we can either return you to your accommodation, or drive you to Kemble train station. Please note, if you are being picked up from your Cotswolds accommodation, the tour route may need to be adjusted to ensure we are not spending extended periods of time travelling between each planned stop.
If you have booked a private tour without pick up, please meet us at Kemble Station, which is directly accessible by train from London Paddington. We advise booking the 8:30am train, arriving at 9:40am. The meeting place is the South Platform Car Park, just outside the station exit.
Our first stop is Bibury, where we will visit the famous cottages on Arlington Row, walk around the marsh looking out for birds and shop for gifts and souvenirs whilst trying to spot some of the incredible, bright blue trout at Bibury Trout Farm.
Our second stop is Bourton on the Water, also known as 'Venice of the Cotswolds', thanks to the stone bridges that cross the River Windrush as it flows through the centre of the village. Here you will have time to browse the boutique shops nestled amongst the quaint streets on both sides of the river, or indulge in a cup of tea and a scone.
Lower Slaughter is known as the most idyllic village in the Cotswolds and upon arrival, you will immediately understand why. A beautiful manor house overlooks the village, and a quintessential Cotswolds inn nestled in the corner of the village is where we will stop for lunch. Please note, the cost of your lunch is not included in the tour price, and lunch itself is completely optional. Please confirm at the point of booking if you would like to include this option.
After visiting the village of Lower Slaughter, we will drive to Broadway Tower; a fascinating and historic folly designed by Capability Brown. Please note, we will not be allowed to enter to tower, nor use the steps to the top.
Here we will walk the wide High Street together and learn why Broadway became an important location for the Arts and Crafts Movement. Then, you will be allowed to roam free and explore the shops, museum, village green and plentiful tea rooms and cafes.
