One of the most important historic days in our lifetime, the events of 9/11 have shaped who we are today. Come with us as we bring you into the story of the day, the tragic loss, the effort to move forward, and the resilience that has propelled the revitalization.
With sensitive care, the events of the day will be explored as you walk in the footsteps of the heroes, survivors, and victims. Along the way you will visit sites like Saint Paul's Chapel, The Oculus, the new World Trade Center site, and finally the official memorial grounds.
Your guide will share with you all the unique features and details to be found throughout the memorial, such as the Pools, FDNY Memorial Wall, The Sphere, The Glade, and finally the Survivor Tree.
We will deepen your experience by sharing the details you could easily miss on your own. The story of this day is about and for all of us. Sharing it together is how we can come to understand, grieve, honor, and ultimately find peace in loss and survival.
You will meet your guide at the fountain inside City Hall Park. The closet entrance is at the corner of Park Place and Broadway. Your guide will be holding a BLUE flag.
You will end inside the memorial at the 9/11 Museum.
Begin at the Jacob Wrey Mould Fountain. Here you will learn of the creation of the original World Trade Center and its history leading up to the events on September 11th.
Learn the history of one of the city's most historic buildings and the important role it played in the events of 9/11.
Visit the stunning transportation hub by architect Santiago Calatrava. Here you will experience the work that went into the clean-up, reconstruction, and eventual revitalization of the World Trade Center.
Enter the 9/11 Memorial and experience the beauty of the iconic pools, honor the first responders who made the ultimate sacrifice at the FDNY Memorial Wall, step up to Liberty Park and see The Sphere up close, and make your way to the Survivor Tree - a symbol of hope and renewal. After the tour your guide will bring you to the special skip-the-line entrance of the 9/11 Museum. This portion is self guided at your own pace. People typically spend 90 minutes inside.
