If you’re visiting Guadalajara, you're likely to hear talk about this beloved little town, right on the city's doorstep! Tlaquepaque is one of the nation's cherished "magic pueblos," recognized for its role in the country's independence, its architecture, cultural charm, and a relaxing ambience.

With a long history of fame as the home of artisans who have produced some of the finest craftsmanship Mexico has to offer, Tlaquepaque presents a storybook like backdrop to a seemingly endless selection of shops in which to browse. Local pride is on display everywhere, in abundant works of public art, and especially on weekends when street performances of traditional music and folkloric dancing are common.

Our walking tour has been vetted for quality by the local Office of Tourism and Tlaquepaque's Historic Committee. This magical pueblo is right between the airport and Guadalajara’s historic center, and so we are only 30 minutes from both. A visit is the perfect day trip!

We´ll visit the Regional Ceramics Museum where you can see the work of some of the potters who have made Tlaquepaque internationally famous for its artisanal excellence. We stop at El Refugio, a former hospital and now the town's cultural center. Hear the ghost stories! We stroll through beautiful Hidalgo Garden and we walk to the nearby Parish and Sanctuary.
