It was built in the 18th century. People used to come to this fountain to fill their bottles by draining natural water and humidity from the top of the mountain. It is the largest source we have in Sintra.
Ordered to be built by António Augusto Monteiro and commissioned to the Italian Luigi Manini. This is where the famous Initiatory Well is located, with an unparalleled mystique along with the resulting tunnels and lakes.

Isolated high up, on one of the peaks of the Sintra mountain, the Mourish Castle is a fortification founded in the 10th century, a time of Muslim occupation of the Iberian Peninsula. Its famous walls snake through the mountains with their granite blocks between rocks and cliffs.
The great sacred jewel of Portugal was built in the 19th century by D. Fernando II, from Austria, who married the Portuguese queen. Its contrasting colors highlight the view of a mountain peak full of mysteries.
The center of Sintra village marks the landscape with the unmistakable architecture of the two conical chimneys that overlap the royal kitchen. It is the only palace that has spanned the entire history of Portugal.
