You’ll start by exploring a traditional village, where you can watch locals as they go about their day. Marvel at their skills as they climb coconut trees and learn how they make fresh coconut milk—an essential part of Zanzibari cuisine!
Next, we’ll head to Chwaka Fish Market together, where you can join the locals in picking out fresh ingredients for your cooking adventure. You’ll get to participate in cooking activities in a local home, preparing delicious Zanzibari dishes while sharing stories and laughter with your hosts.
We’ll also visit the PDS Charitable School, where you can see how local initiatives are making a difference in the community and meet some inspiring students ( available by workdays only ).

Meeting and pickup
We meet at PDS school at our sub branch office at Jendele, you will see a volunteer school at the last end of another school known Jendele primary and secondary school, you will see a buildings with blue color and our logo is printed on it, you enter the building office and meet with the reception.

This tour is the perfect way to understand and gain insight into local Zanzibar life. You will be able to experience village life and observe locals carrying on with their daily activities. Watch locals climbing coconut trees; make coconut milk. You will also visit a local house and have an opportunity to participate in cooking activities with the locals, during the activity you will go to Chwaka fish market and buy cooking ingredients for food preparation. Also you will have a chance to visit PDS charitable school ( This tour is only available by workdays ).
