The Old Exchange Building is South Carolina’s most historic building. It is one of the few surviving buildings where the US Constitution was ratified. Today it is a very informative museum that also has the Provost Dungeon which held pirates and then America patriots prisoners during the American Revolution. The Old Exchange also has a significant amount of history pertaining to the Transatlantic and domestic slave trade in Charleston.
