Nestled just 15 kilometers from Moshi Town and situated at the edge of Kilimanjaro National Park lies Materuni, an authentic tribal village inhabited by the Chagga people. Embark on a scenic 40-minute hike to the mesmerizing Materuni Waterfalls, where towering cascades of water plunge over 80 meters into a refreshing pool. Prepare for the hike with sturdy hiking boots, as the trail can be slippery and muddy. Along the way, you may catch a glimpse of the majestic Kilimanjaro summit. Upon reaching the waterfalls, take a refreshing dip in the pool and savor the breathtaking scenery. Afterward, return to Materuni Village and indulge in a traditional Chagga lunch, followed by a taste of the local banana beer, a specialty crafted by the skilled Chagga brewers.
