We meet at the E-Bike rental shop, nearest metro stops are Jaume I (L4 line) and Liceu (L3 line) on Las Ramblas.
We end the tour by Bar Plata in the Gotico neighbourhood.
We meet and collect our bicycles from the shop, and set off on our adventure through the Roman quarter, stopping by the old Roman square.
We head into the Born neighbourhood where we will cycle through its narrow medieval lanes and learn about its fascinating history. We drop off our bicycles and head into one of Barcelona's 47 markets, Santa Caterina, where we'll taste some of the star products of Spain, including 3 cheeses, 2 hams, and chorizo. Your guide is experienced in dry-curing hams, he will tell you all about it.
Delve into Barcelona's vibrant Raval district, once renowned for its thriving cotton industry and captivating cabarets. Discover the streets once frequented by renowned figures like Picasso and Gaudí, and immerse yourself in the neighborhood's rich history. Unveil the stories of the neighborhood's diverse population, from those who sought a better life to the artists who found inspiration in its streets. Explore the former Santa Creu medieval hospital, once Barcelona's sole hospital for five centuries, now transformed into a hub for knowledge and learning, housing the national library and academic institutes. Next, we will check out one of the world's main skateboarding hubs, opposite the Barcelona Museum of Contemporary Art.
Venture into Barcelona's Sant Antoni neighborhood, where the transition from the medieval era to modernism is evident in its well-planned streets and contemporary architecture. Journey atop Montjuïc, a hill steeped in Barcelona's history, from its ancient quarry to its pivotal role in the 1929 Universal Exposition and the 1992 Olympic Games. We head back to the bike shop and drop off our bikes.
We take a 15-minute walk to the seaside neighborhood of Barceloneta where we will conclude our Bike and Bites adventure with a delicious paella paired with refreshing sangria.
