Right on Auckland’s doorstep lies the Hauraki Gulf, known throughout the world as a boating paradise. For many divers, this area has a certain mystique. Take the opportunity and see migrating hammerhead sharks on this full-day private scuba diving charter. These juvenile pelagic swim past the outer islands as they make their way to the Pacific Ocean.

What to expect

Dive with juvenile Hammerhead Sharks, as they migrate through our waters.
Enjoy 2 dives off the beautiful coast of New Zealand from our charter boat.
This is a full day charter, including equipment and you will need to bring your own lunch, water, sunscreen and a hat.
Meeting time: 8am.
We expect to be back around 4/5pm, but this depends on the conditions and how the day goes.

Note: This dive is for divers who have a minimum of open water certification. You must have dived within the last 12 months – contact us if you need a refresher course. If you're not a confident diver, we recommend completing additional training before the charter, since we can't offer a private guide.

Additional info

  • Not recommended for pregnant travelers
  • Not recommended for travelers with poor cardiovascular health
  • Travelers should have at least a moderate level of physical fitness
  • NOTE: This dive is for experienced divers who have logged at least 10 dives and have a minimum of open water certification, however inexperienced divers may also book this charter but must pay for a dive guide ($25 NZ per person paid locally upon arrival)
  • Evidence of dive certification is required from all divers wishing to participate in a certified dive
  • Diving within 48 hours of flying is not recommended. All participants will be required to complete a health questionnaire prior to diving. Some pre-existing medical conditions (eg. asthma, heart conditions, etc.) may prevent you from diving, please consult your doctor
