Join us in one of the most unique and traditional weaving courses and discover the art of Tsakonian weaving, one of the oldest Greek weaving techniques.
Simply come with your creative mood and you will be guided step by step by Elisavet, a qualified third generation weaver, who will share her love and knowledge of weaving with you.
In this session you will start from scratch and create your own woven piece by using just your hands on a vertical loom with quality local materials. This course is easy and fun for beginners.
By the end of our meeting you will have created a unique piece and we are always happy to chat more about our experience.

This unique weaving experience takes place in the last traditional workshop that continues the rich Tsakonian weaving tradition. Passed down from generation to generation.

What to expect

In this workshop, Elisavet Rodopoulou will share her family’s tradition on weaving.
Participants will get a full immersion into the process of tapestry weaving according to the Tsakonian technique.
They will have the opportunity to experiment on a table loom and create their own woven piece by hand using local materials.
The participants will also gain practical skills and knowledge of warping, loom set-up and weaving simple and geometrical patterns.
The course is suitable for beginners and those with experience.
