2Jesus Christ Statue
Christ the King Statue, perched atop Nui Nho (Small Mountain), is one of Asia’s largest Christ statues, standing 32 meters tall with an 18.4-meter arm span. Visitors climb 847 steps to reach it, where they’re rewarded with sweeping views of Vung Tau’s coastline. You can even enter the statue and enjoy the scenery from its outstretched arms. Thang Tam Temple is one of Vung Tau’s most important spiritual sites, dedicated to Ca Ong (the Whale God), the protector of fishermen. The complex includes the Thang Tam Communal House, Hon Ba Temple, and the Lady of the Five Elements Temple, each with its own cultural significance. The Whale Temple is especially notable for its large whale skeleton, reflecting the deep respect local fishermen hold for the sea.
