What to expect :
1. History Beer and Oktoberfest Museum
Your guide will guide you through the history of beer. You'll learn everything and you can try it.
2. The workshop : Tap your own barrel and feast
You get to know the wooden barrel, practice the perfect stroke and the famous shout “O’zapft is!” It's tapped.
You will also be served a Bavarian breadboard.
3. The exclusive access : The ice cellar
You will visit the refrigerated cellars of a brewery where the wooden barrels are stored. Experience the cold air as you try more fresh beer. There we finish the official part of the tour.
4. The “Beer Master” graduation ceremony
You came as Beginner, but you go as Expert. You will receive your personal “Bavarian Beer Master” certificate.
5. The local secret
Before you say goodbye with a “cheer”, your guide will tell you a place nearby to continue your evening.
Please go to the Isar Gate and wait between the towers of the gate in the open courtyard. We'll pick you up there on foot.
They meet at the historic Isartor and start the tour in one of Munich's oldest historic buildings. Your guide will guide you through the dark and glorious history of beer. Why did monks fast with liquid bread? Why were there beer riots? You'll learn everything, entertaining and unfiltered. Of course, you can try it too.
Next, head to the traditional “Hax Grill”. Here's to the canned! While other tourists are just watching, you get to know the mechanics of the wooden barrel. Grab the hammer, practice the perfect blow and learn the famous cry “O’zapft is!” It's tapped. To keep your strength up, you'll be served a Bavarian snack. Snack platter with mountain cheese, pretzels, obatzda and cold cuts that perfectly matches your fresh wooden keg beer.
The exclusive access : The ice cellar You will continue to the world famous Viktualienmarkt to visit “Der Pschorr”. This is not just a pub visit, but an exclusive behind-the-scenes look. You will visit the refrigerated cellars where the wooden barrels are stored. Experience the smell of the oak and the cold air as you try another type of fresh beer. There we finish the official part of the tour.
