Welcome to Vietnam! Upon arrival, meet our team at the airport and drive to city center, check-in hotel and relax after spending a long flight. Overnight in Hanoi.
Start the tour by visiting Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum. Enjoy the architectural and historical aspects of Uncle Ho's final resting-palace. Just next door is Ho Chi Minh's house on stilts where he used to live in the past. Lying to one side of the Mausoleum is the One Pillar Pagoda, built by King Ly Thai To in 1049 the structure has become an important symbol for the people of Hanoi. Continue to visit the Quan Thanh Temple and Buddhist Tran Quoc Pagoda on West. Lunch at local restaurant. After lunch proceed to visit the Literature Temple – Vietnam’s first university constructed in 1070, Its gardens and well-preserved architecture offer a relaxing glimpse into Vietnam’s past. Take a Cyclo tour to go around city center. After that we will visit Hoan Kiem Lake, see the peaceful water, and visit Ngoc Son temple as the last stop of the day.
Depart Hanoi on a 2hr drive to Ninh Binh, a province known for its spectacular landscapes of rice paddies and limestone karsts. Visit the historic capital of Vietnam and the famous ancient temples of Le and The Dinh Dynasties. Afterward, enjoy a scenic boat trip through the wetlands of the Tam Coc with spectacular views and row into one of the many caves carved through the limestone. Take a short trek to Ngoa Long mountain to overview the beautiful landscape. Going back to Hanoi and free time in the evening. Overnight in Hanoi.
After breakfast at hotel, check-out hotel. From Hanoi, head East for more than 3 hours to Halong Bay by shuttle bus (arranged by cruise team), the pride of the Gulf of Tonkin, a Natural World Heritage as designated by UNESCO in 1994 and 2006. The road will pass by the Red River delta with green paddy fields and rural villages, where hard-work farmers are busy with their farming jobs, ploughing buffaloes or planting seedling. Upon arrival in Halong, we’ll take a big boat to cruise the Bay to discover the magnificent beauty of this “Descending-dragon” bay, created by thousands odd-shaped limestone rocks and karst grottoes. After a lunch of fresh seafood on board, we can visit the Surprising Grotto, stop for exploring, passing floating villages and approach islets to enjoy their beauty in close distance. Evening attend activities on the boat or relax at your own leisure. Overnight on the boat.
In the morning, doing exercise morning on Sundeck, enjoy light breakfast with coffee, tea, seasonal fresh fruit and bread before keep going to visit Halong Bay, passing by many other rocks, Islets as well as fishing villages. Brunch will be served on board before disembarking time. Drive back to Hanoi take a flight o Hue - central of Vietnam. Private airport transfer in Hue and overnight in Hue. In the morning, going to tomb of Emperor Khai Dinh, the 12th King of Nguyen Dynasty. The architectural work owns a harmonious combination between the European modernity and the Vietnam classical characteristics. Then we drive to tomb of Emperor Minh Mang, a different architectural style and one of the biggest tomb in Hue. Have lunch before visit Imperial City is the most well known and iconic site in Hué. Famously being one of Vietnam’s seven UNESCO World Heritage Sites, the Imperial City of Hue has long been a must-see attraction for tourists visiting a hidden charm of Vietnam. Overnight in Hue.
Breakfast at hotel. Check-out and drive to Hoi An. Take a short drive to the riverside town of Hoi An. You will set off on a walking tour to explore this World Heritage Site. Highlights include an ancient merchant house, the Phuc Kien Assembly Hall, the 400-year-old Japanese Covered Bridge, and the vibrant riverside market. Overnight in Hoi An.
(If you don't know how to ride bicycles, we will cover for you) Take a short boat ride across the Thu Bon River to reach Cam Kim Island. The car-free island is perfect for cycling where we’ll spend half a day on our bikes exploring the peaceful countryside. Visit Tra Nhieu Village which has retained many typical features of the Vietnamese livelihoods of agriculture and handicraft making. Learn about the diversity of local plants and herbs and visit several local homes to observe how people make rice wine, rice noodles and rice paper. Continue to a scenic water coconut forest and try your hand at rowing the unique Vietnamese round bamboo basket boats. Enjoy a home-hosted lunch before returning to the mainland. Free time for exploring Hoi An. Overnight in Hoi An.
Breakfast at hotel. Check-out and transfer to airport for fly to Saigon. Upon arrival, meet and great service at the airport with our team. Your program includes the Reunification Hall, formerly known as the Presidential Palace. Continue to the Central Post Office & Notre Dame Cathedral of Saigon. Last stop will be Tan Dinh Market & Pink Church where you can explore an authentic Saigon life. Check-in hotel and overnight in Saigon.
Breakfast at hotel and head to Cu Chi Tunnels. Cu Chi tunnels - an underground tunnels network constructed by Vietnamese fighters during their struggle for independence. Arriving tunnels, a short introductory video showing how the tunnels were constructed will be given. We then spend time exploring the maze of tunnels including innumerable trap doors, storage facilities, weapons factories, field hospitals, command centers and kitchens. These tunnels consisted of many ‘moving parts’ making them a livable structure for long periods of time. Having lunch before going back to downtown. Overnight in Saigon.
Drive to Ben Tre, get on boat to cruise along the Ben Tre river. Visit a brick workshop where bricks are still painstakingly made by hand. Then we go through the zigzag canals to visit local a coconut processing workshop. The boat will then stop at a quiet village where you can visit a mat weaving house, where straw mats are woven using a hand loom – Enjoy some tropical fresh fruits. Stop at a riverside restaurant for a delicious and filling lunch. After lunch. You will then hop onto a “tuk tuk" for a fun ride through the coconut forest to go to Mr Khanh’s. He is a passionate antique collector and his house is jam packed full of fascinating artifacts from Vietnam and elsewhere in Asia. He also has some fascinating family albums dating back to French colonial times. Go down the water way on such a boat and enjoy a mesmerizing time.
