    Piazzetta del Titano

Piazza del Titano is a lively corner of the historic center of San Marino, which has been included among the UNESCO heritage sites. There is no better place to appreciate the architectural beauty of San Marino and to people-watch than sitting at the tables of a bar. The square also houses a splendid museum, which illustrates the archaeological and artistic history of the nation and the evolution of its currency. From the center of Piazza del Titano, observe the austere architecture of its buildings, which feature recurring features such as pillars and simple balconies. On one side of the square an imposing arched door is visible. Under one of the arches there is a bas-relief representing San Marino as a bricklayer. The main attraction of the square is the State Museum, which occupies the rooms of the Pergami Belluzzi palace. It contains around 5000 artefacts that illustrate the history of San Marino and that of ancient civilizations from around the world. The duration can be variable.

    Cava dei Balestrieri

The Cava dei Balestrieri is a historical landmark of the city and can be easily visited as soon as you arrive in the historic center because it is located a stone's throw from the cable car stop. Its initial use was as a quarry for the recovery of materials and for the extraction of the stone necessary for the restoration of the nearby Palazzo Pubblico. From the 1960s onwards this area was equipped for shooting with the large Italian crossbow, an ancient game of arms which is today part of the historical recovery and folklore of the Republic of San Marino. The inauguration of the Cava dei Balestrieri officially took place on 3 September 1971. The duration can be variable.

    Piazza della Liberta

It is the heart of San Marino political life and its history and it is here that the installation ceremony of the Captains Regent takes place every 6 months: on 1 April and 1 October every year. The Palazzo Pubblico stands on the so-called "Pianello", or Piazza della Libertà and stands on the site of the Domus Comunis Magna, built between 1380 and 1392 and repaired several times. In the second half of the 19th century the Palazzo Vecchio had the appearance of a seventeenth-century building: on 17 May 1884 the foundation stone of the current Palace was laid, based on a design by the Roman architect Francesco Azzurri, president of the Accademia di San Luca in Rome , by local stonecutters directed by the San Marino master builder Giuseppe Reffi, using stones extracted from the Titano quarries. The inauguration took place on 30 September 1894, the speaker of the ceremony was Giosuè Carducci who on the occasion gave the famous speech on "perpetual freedom". The duration can be variable.
