What to expect

Get ready for an exciting 2-day trek to Mount Toubkal, the highest peak in North Africa. You’ll start your journey in the village of Imlil, about 1.5 hours from Marrakech. Upon arrival, you’ll meet your local mountain guide who will lead you through the High Atlas Mountains. From there, you’ll hike passing Berber villages, green valleys, and rocky paths. After about 3 hours of walking, you’ll stop for lunch and rest. Then you’ll continue hiking for another 2–3 hours to reach the Toubkal Refuge (3,207m), where you’ll have dinner and spend the night in a shared mountain hut.

The next day starts early with breakfast at 4:00 AM. Then, you’ll begin the climb to the summit of Mount Toubkal (4,167m). The trail is steep and rocky and takes 3–4 hours to the top. From the summit, you’ll enjoy amazing views of the Atlas Mountains and even the Sahara Desert on clear days. After resting and taking photos, you’ll hike back to the refuge for a break. Then continue down to Imlil, with lunch on the way. The second day is more challenging, with about 10 hours of hiking in total. Once you reach Imlil, you’ll drive back to Marrakech to end your adventure.
