The history of Casa das Tortas (currently Pastelaria Regional Cego) dates back to 1901, when Manuel Rodrigues, a blind man, opened a room-renting and cake-making business in Azeitão with his wife, Teresa Prata. The original tarts were large, but later reduced the size to individual portions by their daughter, Albina, and granddaughter, also named Teresa. In 1975, the pastry shop was sold to Augusto Pinto, whose son, José Augusto Pinto, is the current owner and continues to maintain the traditional recipe, along with the pastry shop that has become a reference point for Torta DE Azeitão.

    Jose Maria de Fonseca

Built in the 19th century, it was restored in 1923 by the Swiss architect, Ernesto Korrodi, and was the residence of the Soares Franco family until the 70s of the 20th century. With a very special façade and beautiful gardens, it has always been associated with the image of José Maria da Fonseca. The tour through the Casa-Museu begins with a brief explanation of the company's history, followed by a visit to the old cellars: Adega da Mata and Adega dos Teares Novos, where, among others, Periquita wine ages, and the Adega dos Teares Velhos, where the oldest Moscatéis de Setúbal rest, some of which are authentic relics over 100 years old. At the end, you will have the opportunity to discover and taste some of the wines produced by José Maria da Fonseca, through a wine tasting.
