Bac Sum Pass is one of the first major mountain passes you’ll encounter on the Ha Giang Loop, offering a dramatic introduction to the region’s rugged beauty. Located between Ha Giang City and Quan Ba, this winding pass stretches around 8 kilometers and is known for its steep curves and scenic views. From the top, visitors can enjoy panoramic vistas of lush valleys, layered hills, and traditional villages tucked in the landscape. Often shrouded in morning mist, the pass feels mystical and sets the tone for the adventure ahead. Bac Sum Pass is also a favorite stop for motorbike riders to rest, take photos, and admire the challenging yet rewarding road. Quan Ba Heaven Gate
Heaven Gate in Quản Bạ is more than just a scenic viewpoint—it’s the majestic entrance to the rocky highlands of Hà Giang, perched at about 1,500 m above sea level From the summit, you’re treated to expansive views of Tam Son Valley—rice terraces, tiny villages, and the symbolic Twin Mountains (a.k.a. Lung Tam village, nestled in the Quan Ba district of Ha Giang, is home to the Hmong ethnic community and renowned for its traditional handwoven linen craft. Set in a peaceful valley along the Mien River, Lung Tam is surrounded by green mountains and terraced fields, creating a picturesque backdrop for cultural exploration. Du Gia – Meo Vac – (Ma Pi Leng) – Dong Van (110km)

Ma Pi Leng Pass
Ma Pi Leng Pass is one of Vietnam’s most awe-inspiring mountain roads, located in Ha Giang Province. Winding along the edge of limestone cliffs at over 1,200 meters above sea level, it offers breathtaking views of the Nho Que River snaking through deep gorges below. Known as the “king of Vietnam’s passes,” Ma Pi Leng is part of the legendary Happiness Road connecting Dong Van and Meo Vac. The pass is not just a scenic marvel but also a symbol of resilience, built by ethnic minorities with bare hands in the 1960s. We come here for the panoramic viewpoints, dramatic landscapes, and the thrilling experience of riding through cloud-kissed peaks and vertical rock walls.

Dong Van
We then reach Dong Van at around 5pm where we will check-in to the homestay and have dinner at a local restaurant. Explore the ancient village, ideal for a relaxing stroll. Located in the Dong Van stone plateau, one of the most beautiful highlands in Vietnam. Dong Van is the cultural and economic center of the stone plateau, with winding small roads and typical ancient houses. You can walk around town, explore Dong Van market (if you come on the right market day). Enjoy specialties such as thang co, men men, buckwheat cake. Stroll through the old streets with traditional stone and wooden houses.

Day 3
Dong Van – Lung Cu – Vuong Palace– Yen Minh – Nam Dam village (120 km)

Lung Cu Flag Tower After a delicious breakfast we leave Dong Van Town. Our driver and guide will take you to see the loop of Vietnam where the Chinese borderline and see Vietnam's national flag tower, we will ride for over one hour to get to the flag tower where you have to walk up to the top of flag pole to see panorama view and also chance to see chines borderline and see the view of villages stay at the bottom of the valley this will be a spectacular landscape where you will have great picture after loop will back to Dong Van town for lunch.

The Meo King's Palace, also known as the Vuong Family Palace, is located in Sa Phin Commune, Dong Van District, Ha Giang Province. This is a unique architectural work built in the early 20th century, and was once the residence and workplace of Vuong Chinh Duc - the richest and most powerful Mong leader in the region. The palace has a mixed style of Chinese, French and indigenous architecture, featuring yin-yang tiled roofs, sa moc wooden pillars, and intricately carved green stones. Surrounded by pine forests and rocky mountains, it creates a majestic and mysterious space. The palace is an important historical relic, reflecting the life of the Mong aristocracy in the past.

Nam Dam – Lung Khuy – Tam Son – Ha Giang City, approx 70 km

Lung Khuy Cave (Quan Ba Commune, Ha Giang) is known as the "first plateau cave" with its magical and wild beauty in the middle of the Dong Van stone plateau. The cave is about 300m long, located halfway up the rocky mountain, with a diverse stalactite system, crystal white or shimmering gold like a "pearl forest", a "stone tower" and even a giant stone instrument Inside there is also an iron bridge and a colorful lighting system that makes it easy to visit deeper recesses According to Mong legend, Lung Khuy means "dragon in the rock crevice" - where the dragon god once appeared to bring rain and protect the sacred well, marrying a Mong girl to create a village at the foot of the mountain. People often come to the cave to ask for water from the god to pray for favorable weather, health and wealth in the new year

Quan Ba Heaven Gate
Quan Ba Heaven Gate is a famous stop on the journey to explore Ha Giang, located at an altitude of about 1,500m above sea level. From here, visitors can admire the panoramic view of Tam Son town and especially the Fairy Twin Mountains - two round mountains lying next to each other, considered a symbol of the beauty of highland girls. The twin mountains are associated with a touching legend about motherly love and love. The scenery at Heaven Gate is both majestic and poetic with floating clouds, rocky mountains and winding terraced fields.
