This course is most recommended for those who want to experience the trails in a casual setting and is open to ages 13 and up.
At the JR Ticket Counter (Midori no Madoguchi) on the 2nd floor of Sendai Station.
After meeting your guide at Sendai Station, transfer to Natori City by train.
Start the day with a visit to the Natori Trail Centre to learn more about the trail. After a brief orientation, begin your hike from the Michinoku Shiokaze Trail Natori Trail Center, leading to Arahama Elementary School.
The area was struck by a 10-meter-high tsunami, leading 320 students, staff, and residents to evacuate to the rooftop of Arahama Elementary School, where they survived. Today, the school building is preserved as a public memorial. The school building is preserved as a monument and features exhibition rooms dedicated to the disaster. From the rooftop, you can view the surrounding area's reconstruction and compare before-and-after photos of the tsunami's impact. After visiting Arahama Elementary School, transfer to your accommodation by vehicle.
Today, we'll hike through the stunning Urato Shoto Island area, located off the coast of Matsushima Bay, with stops at Michinoku Shiogama, Katsurajima, Nonoshima, and Miyato, hopping between islands.
Today, we will hike around Kesennuma Oshima Island, where you can enjoy stunning views of the bay from the lookout at Kameyama Mountain, following the Michinoku Shiokaze Trail from Tatsumaizaki to Kameyama.
After lunch on the way to the trail, the tour concludes upon arrival at Sendai Station.
