Meet your guide in front of Miyako Station
Meet at Miyako Station and take a train to Fudai Station. The hike starts from Fudai Station, leading you through the local town and along the picturesque blue ocean trail near Nedarihama Beach. ● Hiking Distance: about 8.6km ● Total Incline 390m Decent 245m ● Hiking time: about 3.5hrs ● Trail type: on-road/paved pathways The day concludes with an ascent to your accommodation, where you'll enjoy a traditional Unotori Kagura dance performance during dinner.
Departing from the hotel, today's hike will tackle the most challenging section of the Michinoku Coastal Trail, stretching from the Kitayamazaki cliffs to the Aketo area. Afterward, we'll transfer to the Taro area in Miyako City, where you'll unwind at a luxurious onsen hotel. ● Hiking Distance: approximately 6.5 km ● Total Incline: 556 meters ● Total Descent: 647 meters ● Hiking Time: about 5 hours ● Trail Type: a mix of unpaved trails with stairs and some paved sections.
Departing from the hotel, today's hike will take us through the Taro area, where you'll learn about the impact of the 2011 tsunami and the ongoing reconstruction efforts. The hike concludes at Miyako Station around 2:00 PM.
