What to expect

Guests can enjoy a cultural walk through Akama-juku by dressing in traditional Japanese attire such as a kimono, samurai, feudal lord, candy vendor, and other period costumes. The experience includes a complete costume set with accessories and simple hair styling, allowing you to explore the historic streets freely and take memorable photos in an authentic setting. After booking, a short form will be sent to collect the necessary details for costume preparation, and timely submission is required to secure the reservation.

As optional add-on experiences, guests may also choose to join a sake tasting or a matcha tea ceremony.
The sake tasting takes place at Katsuya Shuzo, a historic brewery founded in 1790, where you can sample local sake and learn about its traditions.
The matcha experience offers a hands-on introduction to Japanese tea culture, guided by a local instructor who explains the etiquette and spirit of the tea ceremony while you prepare and enjoy matcha yourself.
