Stretching across the sea between Kobe and Awaji Island, the Akashi Kaikyo Bridge is one of Japan’s most impressive engineering feats. Known affectionately as the "Pearl Bridge," it held the world record for the longest suspension bridge for over twenty years, featuring a massive central span of 1,991 meters. Its two towers reach nearly 300 meters high, making them almost as tall as Tokyo Tower.
