Our local artist, Jacklyn H, is a native and will first share about Perankans in Singapore. Then, it's time to indulge your creative side! Jacklyn will guide you to sketch and paint important symbols of Singapore. Bring home a piece of artwork as a beautiful and unique souvenir!

Once your masterpieces are complete, take a stroll to a nearby museum. As you walk, Jacklyn will highlight iconic heritage sights. This is not just a visual treat; immerse yourself in tales of Singapore's rich past and diverse culture.

What to expect

Stop 1: Sketch and paint at a local cafe in Funan Mall (right beside Cityhall MRT) near the Peranakan Museum. Travellers may choose to try the local kaya toast, a Singapore delicacy. The artist will explain simple sketching and watercolour techniques. She will also guide you to complete a watercolour painting of your own. Some local history will be shared.
Duration: 2 hours

Stop 2: 10 minutes walk to Peranakan Muesum. Along the way, the artist will point out several historical details such as the oldest colonial post office in Singapore.

Stop 3: Visit the Peranakan Museum. The museum specialises in the country's Peranakan culture. It houses the world’s finest Peranakan artefacts—such as jewellery, furniture and textiles—in ten permanent galleries over three floors. Here, visitors can witness the history and heritage of the ethnic Peranakans. The artist will highlight several interesting artefacts, and visitors are encouraged to explore the rest of the museum independently. Ticket admits for the whole day.
