The Annapurna Base Camp Trek is a popular choice for those seeking a breathtaking Himalayan experience. This journey takes you to the foot of Mt. Annapurna, the 10th-highest mountain in the world.
As you trek through the Annapurna Sanctuary, you'll be surrounded by majestic peaks like Annapurna I, Annapurna South, Machapuchhre, and Hiunchuli. The trek offers stunning mountain views, cultural insights into Nepalese hill life, and a diverse ecosystem.
Look for our representative at the airport exit holding a sign that says "Places Nepal Trek & Tours." They'll guide you to our tourist vehicle, which will take you to your hotel.
Find a person with Black Hat and a sign that says Places Nepal Trek and Tours
So, when you land in Kathmandu, look for someone holding up a sign that says 'Places Nepal Trek & Tours.' That's our friendly rep who'll take you to your hotel. We'll have a pre-trip meeting at our office either on your first or second day. That's where you'll meet your guide and we'll go over everything you need to know. Don't forget to bring your passport, three passport-size photos, and a copy of your travel insurance. And if you still owe us any money, please be ready to pay it then. You'll also need to sign some paperwork.
Early morning, around 6:30 AM, our team will pick you up from your hotel and take you to the tourist bus station. We're catching a bus to Pokhara, which is a beautiful city by a lake. It's got amazing views of the mountains and is a much calmer place than Kathmandu. It's like the perfect base for our trek!
After a short drive from Pokhara, we'll start our trek in a place called Nayapul. We'll walk along a river for a bit and then reach a village called Birethanti. From there, we'll climb up the side of the valley, stopping at a few places along the way. Today's hike is pretty easy, just a warm-up for the adventures ahead!
Next, we'll climb up to Ulleri, a big village higher up. After that, the trail gets a bit easier as we walk through a forest of oak and rhododendron trees. We'll stop at a few places along the way before reaching Ghorepani, our destination for today.
Really early in the morning, we'll hike up to Poon Hill. It's a great spot to watch the sunrise over the mountains. After spending some time there, we'll go back to Ghorepani for a hot breakfast. Then, we'll hike through some forests and down to Tadapani.
Today, we'll start by going downhill through a forest of rhododendron trees. We'll walk through the forest and then reach a village called Gurjung, home to the Gurung people. From there, it's a pretty easy walk to Chomrong.
Today, we'll go downhill to a river and then climb up again to Khuldighar. There used to be a checkpoint there. After that, we'll walk through a forest and down a steep rock bank. We'll keep walking along the river until we reach the Himalayan Hotel.
Today, we'll hike past a cave and a place called Deurali, and then reach Machapuchare Base Camp. It's actually not really a base camp because you can't climb that mountain. This area is called the Annapurna Sanctuary because it's surrounded by mountains. From there, it's about a two-hour hike to Annapurna Base Camp. You'll get amazing views of the mountains there.
Today, we'll go back the way we came. We'll go downhill a lot and reach a place called Bamboo, which has some places to stay
We'll go back the same way until we reach Chomrong. On the way, we'll see an experimental sheep farm. We'll walk through some forests and then go downhill to Jhinu, where we can relax in hot springs.
We'll walk along the river to Birethanti, which is a really nice and relaxing part of the trek. Then, we'll take a short drive back to Pokhara. After checking into our hotel, we'll go to Fewa Lake and take a boat ride to Barahi Temple.
In the morning, we'll drive back to Kathmandu. If you want to stay longer, there are lots of things you can do, like go on a jungle safari, try rafting, explore the city, or go mountain biking. In the evening, we'll have a farewell dinner at a Nepalese restaurant with some cultural shows.
Today is our last day. Our rep will take you to the airport so you can catch your flight home.
