This chocolate maker focuses on ethical and sustainable sourcing, ensuring that each cocoa bean is carefully selected for its unique flavours. Founded in 2004 by Guillaume Bichet, this Geneva chocolate factory-pastry is the result of the passion and know-how of a master chocolatier. A graduate of the École de Gastronomie Francophone, Guillaume Bichet wanted to create a place where tradition and innovation meet. Guillaume Bichet, the head of more than 9 shops in French-speaking Switzerland, died suddenly of a heart attack at the age of 37 on January 30, 2024. Its chocolates will continue to delight the taste buds for eternity, and you can soon discover them for yourself.
Philippe Pascoët won two local Grand Awards in 2006 and 2008, establishing his reputation as a chocolate artisan. After training in the best workshops in France, Philippe Pascoët moved to Geneva in 2000. At the time, he realized that unlike in France, where chocolate was only sold at Christmas or Easter, in Switzerland everyone consumed it all the time. It is true that the Swiss are the biggest consumers of chocolate in the world, with about 10 to 12 kg of chocolate per person per year.
You will have the opportunity to taste chocolates at the oldest chocolate maker in Geneva, Du Rhône Chocolatier SA. The story begins in 1875, when Monsieur Pertuiset opened his shop on the famous Rue du Rhône. His establishment quickly gained an excellent reputation. The irresistible treats of this chocolate maker have been acclaimed around the world. Historical records reveal that notable clients such as Winston Churchill, J.F. Clients included Kennedy, Grace Kelly, Colette, General de Gaulle, and Dwight Eisenhower. The laboratory once even presented ribbons bearing the image of the King of Spain. In 2018, the famous Contributor Joël Dicker took over the management of Du Rhône and, in 2022, he partnered with the Haute Chocolaterie Jacot of the canton of Neuchâtel. Together, they aim to offer the best of high-end chocolate craftsmanship, imbued with the creative touch of brilliant master chocolatier David Paganel.
