After your hands-on chocolate adventure, unwind at the serene Maya King Waterfall. The best part is that reaching the waterfall requires no long hike; it’s just a two-minute walk to this breathtaking spot.
The 30-minute drive from Hopkins Village to Maya Center takes you through scenic countryside and lush greenery along the Southern Highway. Once at Maya Center, you’ll be welcomed into a traditional Mayan village, where you’ll learn the ancient art of chocolate making.
Your first stop is the cacao farm, where you’ll learn how the cocoa plant is grown and its cultural and historical importance in Belize. After exploring the farm, you'll head to the chocolate house to experience the traditional Mayan process of chocolate making. You’ll grind the beans on a stone slab, then sample rich Mayan-style chocolate drinks and handmade bars during this immersive and hands-on tour.
After the Mayan Chocolate Making Tour, we’ll head to the scenic Maya King Waterfall, just off the Southern Highway. Nestled in the lush jungle, it’s the perfect place to unwind, swim, and cool off in the refreshing cascade. Don’t forget your swimsuit and towel!
