What to expect

Reach one of Rio de Janeiro’s most iconic landmarks in a unique and adrenaline-filled way. On this experience, you’ll climb the Sugarloaf Mountain rock face and enjoy a perfect combination of adventure, personal achievement, and nature.

The activity is conducted in small groups and begins with a meeting with your professional guide at General Tibúrcio Square, in the Urca neighborhood. After a detailed safety briefing, we start a short but steep trail with exclusive access, lasting approximately 20 minutes, leading to the start of the climb. Along the way, you’ll already enjoy beautiful city views while preparing for the challenge ahead.

During the climb, you’ll use certified safety equipment, including helmet, harness, ropes, and carabiners, always under close guidance. The route is rated easy to moderate (Grade 2), with a vertical section of about 20 meters (65 feet). As you ascend, the panoramic views of beaches, mountains, and Guanabara Bay become increasingly impressive.

After completing the climb, we continue to the Sugarloaf summit via the Philosopher’s Rock and finish the experience with a scenic cable car descent.
