Driving through the city we will pass the most important landmarks such as the modern port area and Solsiden (which literally means "the sunny side" in Norwegian), the old colorful wharve houses, the famous Hotel Britannia, the Royal Residence Stiftsgården. From here the tour proceeds into the outskirts of Trondheim. After this, we will make a photo stop at Sverresli viewpoint with a panoramic view over the city. On the way back to city center, we will pass by St. Olav’s Hospital, the biggest medical center in Norway. Nearby we will pass the building of the Student Association, the main building of NTNU, the biggest university in Norway. From there we will drive to Kristiansten Fortress, built in 1681, in order to defend the city. Our last stop will be Nidaros Cathedral built in the 11th century.
Before returning to the port, we will see the Old Town Bridge and the old warehouses.
At the Pirbadet parking lot there will be a bus with "Trondheim City Tours" sign in the windshield.
Solsiden means "the sunny side" of Trondheim and is a charming and vibrant district.
Stiftsgården is the royal residence of Trondheim when the royal family is visiting the city.
Sverresborg is the town’s folk museum, complete with an old stave church and preserved wooden houses that were typical for the region.
You can enjoy a spectacular view over the city from this viewpoint, which the locals call "Sverresli", in the Byåsen area.
Trondheim is known as a lively student city. You will pass by the main building of NTNU, the biggest University of Norway.
Take a stroll around the 17th century fortress, originally built to defend the city. Enjoy a beautiful sight on the river Nid and the city center.
Bakklandet is the oldest district in Trondheim, characterized by its colorful wooden houses.
Nidaros Cathedral is Scandinavia’s most stunning and magnificent cathedral as well as the best well-preserved Gothic building in Northern Europe.
On the way back to the port we will pass by the famous red old town bridge, known as the "Portal of Happiness".
