Son-Kul Lake is a stunning alpine lake located at an altitude of 3,016 meters in the heart of Kyrgyzstan. Surrounded by rolling green pastures and snow-capped mountains, it’s one of the country’s most beautiful and peaceful natural spots. During summer, nomadic herders bring their livestock here to graze, living in traditional yurts that dot the lakeshore. The lake freezes completely from November to May, creating a dramatic, icy landscape. Son-Kul is also home to diverse birdlife, including cranes and golden eagles, making it a paradise for nature lovers and photographers alike.
