The class focuses on preparing a 100% plant-based custard filling and the baking process. The puff pastry is pre-prepared, and you’ll receive an exclusive house-made recipe to recreate it at home, as puff pastry requires several hours to be ready for use.
The session also includes a short and accessible introduction to the history of the Pastel de Nata in Portugal, from its origins in Lisbon to its evolution into one of the country’s most famous pastries, with insight into how this traditional recipe can be successfully adapted to a vegan version without losing its essence.
Each participant will prepare several vegan Pastéis de Nata, which can be enjoyed on site or taken away. A transport box is included for your pastries.
Throughout the workshop, enjoy Port wine, juice, water, coffee, and sweet and savory snacks, in a relaxed and social atmosphere. At the end of the session, you’ll leave with the confidence, and the recipe, to recreate this vegan Portuguese classic at home.
