    Visit to the archaeological site of the Caliphal City of Medina Azahara (MADINAT AL-ZAHRA), 20 minutes from Córdoba, (the Luminous City, World Heritage Site since 2018). Medina Azahara was built by the Umayyad Caliph Abd al-Rahman III to show his power to the world in the year 936. After prospering for several years, it was razed during the civil war that ended the caliphate in 1009-1010.
