From Ávila we will take a one-hour trip to Segovia. On this trip you will be able to enjoy the landscape of the Guadarrama mountain range. Once we arrive at the Plaza Mayor you will have free time for lunch.
We will visit with your official guide the Cathedral of Segovia, known as the "Lady of Cathedrals" and one of the great examples of late Gothic in Spain. During the tour of its interior, you will learn about its history, architecture, and main spaces, also discovering some of its works of art and the religious importance that Segovia had throughout the centuries. Its location in the middle of the Plaza Mayor will also allow us to understand the evolution of the city and some of the historical events that marked this place.
Discover with your official guide the Alcázar of Segovia, one of the most emblematic castles in Spain and former residence of the kings of Castile. We will tour its main rooms while learning about its evolution from medieval fortress to royal palace and some of the events and characters linked to its history, including Isabella the Catholic. Its spectacular location over the valleys of the Eresma and Clamores rivers and its unique architecture make it one of the essential monuments of Segovia. Entrance to the Palace and guided tour included. The Tower of Juan II is not included.
We will finish our visit to the impressive Aqueduct of Segovia, one of the best-preserved Roman engineering works in the world and an indisputable symbol of the city. Along with its guide, you will learn how it was built almost 2,000 years ago, how it works, and some of the details that explain its extraordinary state of preservation. It will also have time to enjoy different perspectives of the monument and take photographs before starting the private return to Madrid.
